Billionaires, extremists, and corrupt officials are dismantling democratic norms piece by piece — weaponizing government agencies, criminalizing dissent, gutting public services, and consolidating power. We are organizing, speaking out, and resisting in every space we occupy. The time for courage is now.
The Threats We're Fighting
IÇE Raids, Racial Profiling, & Deportations New policies and court decisions have given ICE unprecedented latitude to racially profile, stop, and detain people based on appearance, workplace, or language — not evidence of wrongdoing. Agents increasingly operate in militarized units, often masked and refusing to show identification. Families are being separated; people disappear into detention or deportation. Women and gender-diverse people in custody face heightened risks of abuse and are deported without meaningful access to counsel. Entire communities — Latino, Black, Indigenous, Muslim, immigrant, and refugee — are treated as threats rather than human beings.
First Amendment & protest rights under attack Across the country, governments are passing "anti-protest" laws, expanding police and National Guard powers, and using surveillance, infiltration, and harsh prosecutions to intimidate movements for racial justice, immigrant rights, climate action, reproductive freedom, and Palestinian solidarity. The right to speak, organize, and demand accountability is being systematically dismantled.
Healthcare, housing, & public services gutted Shutdown brinkmanship and budget cuts threaten Medicaid, food assistance, and housing programs. Right-wing assaults on public education, book bans, attacks on diversity programs, and attempts to punish or control universities undermine access to learning for millions of students. Essential services are being stripped away while the powerful profit.
Militarized policing & endless war footing The government continues to pour billions into weapons and security while using militarized policing at home to crush dissent and protect the interests of the powerful. Domestically and abroad, military overreach and permanent war posture drain public resources and destabilize communities.
Rule of law broken by those in power Officials manipulate rules, defy oversight, and use their offices to shield allies and punish opponents. Trade wars, sanctions, and tariff conflicts destabilize working families while elites profit from the chaos. And with an administration openly praising dictators, targeting political enemies, and pushing to expand executive authority, the threat to democracy is not fading — it is deepening.
Media independence & press freedom under siege Billionaire owners, partisan networks, and captured regulators are tightening control over newsrooms, marginalizing dissenting voices, and flooding the public sphere with propaganda. Public broadcasting and independent outlets face funding threats, political interference, and smear campaigns — all aimed at silencing journalism that challenges power or exposes state violence.
We will not leave our future, or our freedom, in the hands of those who would destroy them.

We are a nonpartisan, antifascist grassroots coalition based in Missouri, reaching out to the whole nation to foster community and provide independent journalism and news. We cover local events such as protests and rallies, host a blog, collaborate with various organizations locally & nationwide, and cultivate an online community. We welcome volunteers and donations to support our cause.
Together Across America (TAA) is a nationwide, people-powered effort to bridge political and social divides by bringing neighbors, communities, and leaders together for real, grassroots change. TAA invites Americans of every background to “meet in the middle,” focus on what unites us, and advocate for life, liberty, and happiness for all.
