The Regime Just Classified You as a Terrorist

†rump's regime has released its official National Counterterrorism Strategy. If you are anti-fascist, transgender, or simply believe in the right to protest, the United States government now formally considers you a threat equivalent to ISIS. And the legislative assault that goes with it has been building for years.
This is not hyperbole. This is not a prediction. On May 6, 2026, †rump's regime released its official 16-page National Counterterrorism Strategy, a government document signed by †rump himself. In that document, written in plain language for the entire world to read, the Regime formally placed anti-fascists and people with "radically pro-transgender" ideology in the same legal category of terrorist threat as al-Qaeda and ISIS. Not metaphorically. Not loosely. In a signed, legally consequential national security strategy of the United States government.
Read it yourself. This is the actual language from the document, verbatim:
DIRECT QUOTE sFROM †RUMP'S NATIONAL COUNTERTERRORISM STRATEGY, MAY 2026
"In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national CT activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist. We will use all the tools constitutionally available to us to map them at home, identify their membership, map their ties to international organizations like Antifa, and use law enforcement tools to cripple them operationally before they can maim or kill the innocent."
The document identifies three equal categories of major terrorist threat: "Legacy Islamist Terrorists" such as al-Qaeda and ISIS, "Narcoterrorists," and "Violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists." Transgender identity is not a fringe addition buried in a footnote. It is explicitly named as a defining characteristic of terrorism, sitting alongside jihadi violence in the Regime's official national security framework.
The man who wrote it is proud of it. Sebastian Gorka, †rump's senior director for counterterrorism and the document's primary author, called it "my life's work." In a press briefing announcing the strategy, Gorka explicitly named "transgender killers" alongside jihadists and cartels, stating: "We see a threat, we will respond to it, and we will crush it."
And the document goes further than rhetoric. It commits the full apparatus of the United States government to acting on this classification. The strategy vows to "map" these groups "at home," "identify their membership," "map their ties to international organizations," and use law enforcement tools to "cripple them operationally" before any act of violence occurs. This is not a response to crime. This is pre-crime surveillance and disruption of Americans based on political belief and gender identity.
What the Document Does Not Say
The Regime's strategy makes a great deal of noise about left-wing violence. What it does not do is mention right-wing domestic terrorism even once. Not the Oath Keepers. Not the Proud Boys. Not the January 6 insurrection in which †rump supporters stormed the United States Capitol and attacked law enforcement officers, all of whom †rump subsequently pardoned. The document is silent on every act of right-wing political violence in recent American history.
The data makes that silence inexcusable. According to a comprehensive study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, left-wing attacks killed 13 people over the past decade, while right-wing attacks killed 112 people in the same period. From 2016 to 2024, left-wing extremists carried out 41 attacks compared with 152 from the far right over the same period.
Even the CSIS report the Regime cites to justify its strategy shows that during every prior spike in left-wing violence, those incidents were dwarfed by far-right attacks at a ratio of more than ten to one. The lead author of the CSIS study himself warned that the data should not be taken by the government "as an excuse for a crackdown on legitimate organizations." †rump's regime took it as exactly that.
112 DEATHS FROM RIGHT-WING ATTACKS IN THE PAST DECADE
13 DEATHS FROM LEFT-WING ATTACKS IN THE SAME PERIOD
152 FAR-RIGHT ATTACKS FROM 2016 TO 2024
41 LEFT-WING ATTACKS IN THE SAME PERIOD
The Regime did not arrive at this strategy by following the evidence. It arrived here by following a political agenda. The evidence was cherry-picked, distorted, and weaponized to justify treating political opponents and a vulnerable minority community as enemies of the state.
The Counterterrorism Strategy Was Not the Beginning
What the Regime released on May 6 is not a sudden escalation. It is the formalization of a campaign that has been building for years, state by state, bill by bill, targeting transgender people and those who stand with them.
Three anti-trans bills have already passed into law in 2026. Kansas Senate Bill 244 combines a sweeping bathroom ban with restrictions on transgender people's ability to update gender markers on identity documents. New Hampshire passed SB 268, allowing organizations to classify individuals based on biological sex in bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, and institutional settings without it constituting discrimination. Wisconsin SB 146 makes it a felony for anyone convicted of a violent crime to legally change their name, and imposes criminal penalties for violations.
The Regime is simultaneously classifying transgender identity as a marker of terrorism and passing hundreds of laws designed to erase transgender people from public life. These are not separate campaigns. They are one and the same.
The human cost of this campaign is real and it is urgent. Transgender people are four times more likely to face violent attacks than their cisgender peers, and more than 40 percent of transgender people have attempted suicide. More than 262,700 transgender youth, over one third of all transgender youth in the United States, now live in one of 16 states that has enacted all four types of legal restrictions on their lives. An estimated 362,900 transgender youth aged 13 to 17 live in one of 27 states that has banned access to gender-affirming care.
These are not statistics. These are children. These are families. And the government of the United States has now formally declared their identity a national security threat.
True Intentions
The counterterrorism strategy document claims it will not be used against Americans "who simply disagree." It then proceeds to describe an apparatus that does precisely that. When †rump signed National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 in September 2025, the ACLU's National Security Project director called it "yet another effort to investigate and intimidate his critics," and Human Rights Watch described it as "mobilizing federal law enforcement to investigate perceived opponents."
This is not a counterterrorism strategy. It is a roadmap for political repression, written in the language of national security to give it legal cover. The Brennan Center for Justice found numerous flaws in the strategy's foundational document, and the National Coalition Against Censorship characterized the earlier directive as "a blueprint for law enforcement to cast a wide net in the name of terrorism, unmistakable in targeting political opponents."
In March 2026, a jury convicted nine people of providing material support to terrorists for the 2025 Alvarado ICE facility incident, marking the first time terrorism charges had been successfully brought against purported members of antifa. That conviction came before this strategy was even released. The infrastructure of political prosecution was already being built. The strategy is the blueprint for expanding it.
What You Can Do Right Now
The Regime is counting on exhaustion. It is counting on people being overwhelmed by the volume and velocity of these attacks, numbed into inaction by the sheer scale of what is happening. We reject that. Knowing what is being done is the first step. Acting on that knowledge is what the Regime fears most.
Read the counterterrorism strategy document yourself and share it widely. Track every anti-trans bill in your state at Trans Legislation Tracker. Use the ACLU's live map of anti-LGBTQ legislation to see what is moving in your state right now. Contact your representatives. Show up. Organize. The people named as threats in this document are your neighbors, your family members, your colleagues, and your comrades. They deserve your solidarity and your action.
They wrote a document calling us terrorists. Let them know we are citizens. And we are not going anywhere.
